Everything – Nicola Yoon

Everything is a young adult novel by Nicola Yoon, first published in 2015. The novel follows the story of Maddy Whittier, a 17-year-old girl who has severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), a rare genetic disorder that prevents her from leaving her house. Maddy has spent her entire life indoors, but she has a rich and fulfilling life online, where she has made many friends and even fallen in love.
When Olly moves in next door, Maddy is determined to meet him. She knows it is a risk to her health, but she cannot resist the pull she feels towards him. Maddy and Olly begin a cautious romance, and Maddy starts to question her decision to never leave the house.
“Everything” is a sweet and heartwarming story about love, friendship, and the importance of living your life to the fullest. It is a reminder that even in the face of adversity, there is always hope and possibility.
